PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. NEW DATE TBA.

Happy New Year and there isn’t a better way we could think of to kick off 2018 than with ‘Events by Artisan’ at Delamar West Hartford on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 4-8 p.m.

By Tom Hickey

If you are having an event in 2018 (and beyond) this boutique-style showcase (or as I like to say, the event-of-events) is the best way to see what is exceptional and new. I can think of no better way to experience all of this innovation than in a brand new restaurant and hotel, hence the namesake.

Even if you don’t have any events on your radar, this is your chance to see the new hotel and restaurant, sample some of the great food and drink, and learn about the unique offerings that can be found locally so that when you do have an event of any size to plan, you know where to go.

Special thanks to the Mallory family for putting their trust in us to host this event but this wouldn’t be possible with out the team at Delamar including Mario, Angie, Alexis, Cieara, Erin, Shannon, and Jackie. If their professionalism during our planning process is any indication of how you would be treated when planning your event then you won’t have any problems.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marina Luri, owner of Marina Luri Events, and a member of her team, Eva, about one year ago. We were hoping for a special event to work together on and, well you guessed it, this Events by Artisan at Delamar is it! We are really looking forward to creating an experience at this showcase and not just your average trade show. I wish I could tease you with all of the great ideas but you also guessed it – we won’t give away too much – you must join us and see for yourself.

We are thrilled to announce the businesses who will be joining us to make this the “event-of-events” in 2018, including:

• OSCARS TUX: They were the first to get on board as a sponsor of this event and uniquely qualified because of their slim and ultra slim styles. Join us, you’ll see.

• CRUISE PLANNERS: They are presenting the top three experiential cruises. If you are looking for something special for yourself, an auction item, or employee incentive then you must come meet Cunard, Ponant, and UniWorld.

• MARINA LURI EVENTS: Marina is laying out a special “Mitzvah” section so you can see lots of creative ideas for bar and bat mitzvah’s and even meet a kosher caterer who will be able to make the Delamar kitchen kosher for your event.

• ARTHUR MURRAY DANCERS: These talented folks have something so special planned it will jump out at you the minute you enter the Delamar lobby.

I can’t tease you with anymore specifics without getting in trouble but all of these businesses are ready to knock your socks off: A Little Imagination, Bella Bridesmaids, BLO Hair and Make-Up, Bristle & Blade Barberia, Carrie Draghi Photography, Connecticut Custom Clothiers, Creative Cakes by Donna, Creative Concepts by Lisa, Direct Line Videography, Formal Indulgence, IRIS Photography, Joy of Food, Judaica Gifts, Lane & Lenge, Lux Bond & Green, Marina Luri Events, Premier Limousine, SnapSeat Photo Booth, T&T Audio Visual/Staging/DJ, Taylor Rental Party Plus, and Todd Fairchild Photography.

This list isn’t done yet. We still have a few surprises up our sleeves so watch we-ha.com for updates and we will be announcing food and beverage on Wednesday.

If you have yet to visit the Delamar or Artisan think of this extra-special “open house” as a great opportunity to see the entire facility. Yes there is a small admission fee because we are providing so much but think of it as a one-stop shopping experience. Almost like at virtual on-line search, with lots of personal interactions. We guarantee you will not be disappointed!

None of our events would be possible without support from our loyal sponsors: Title Sponsors: Lux Bond & Green, Oscars Tux, CCSU, The McAuley, JP Carroll and Blue Back Square. Event Sponsors: Marina Luri Events, Valerie Thomas & Associates, Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, NorthStar Wealth Partners, Cruise Planners, and Keating Insurance. Media Partners: Eat IN Connecticut, WHsquared, PageView Marketing, MPI, West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, Town of West Hartford, Jewish Ledger, we-ha.com, West Hartford Magazine, #wehaevents, and WHMEDIA.

WHMedia is honored to have their first event of 2018 at Delamar/Artisan and we welcome you to join us at all of our events in 2018. We are always looking for sponsors and participants. Please and click on #wehaevents for a full list. Our next event is the 5th Annual Taste of Elmwood which is coming in February and we have an exciting new venue we will be announcing when we see you on the Jan. 24.

Best wishes in this new year and for all of your special events!
