Hall High School Announces 192 AP Scholar Award Winners

A total of 192 current students and 2016 graduates of West Hartford’s Hall High School earned AP Scholar Awards for 2016.

A total of 192 current students and 2016 graduates of Hall High School have earned the designation of AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams. About 22 percent of the nearly 2.2 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.

Students took AP Exams in May 2016 after completing challenging college-level courses at their high schools. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on a student’s performance on AP exams. Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest possible score.

At Hall High School, fifteen (15) students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. They are current Hall seniors Daniel Gitelman and Dale Yu, as well as 2016 graduates Noah Drazen, Jack Hutensky, Margaret Kinabrew, Nicholas Lombardo, Madison Manning, Thomas McManus, Bethany Onyirimba, Bridget Patterson, Joseph Siegel, Michael Stambler, Marina Tinone, Samuel Weinberg and Jakob Woods Weber.

Eighty-two (82) Hall students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. They are current Hall students Alexandra Barnett, Gaganjot Bedi, Samuel Bidwell, David Cohen, Emma Dalton, Sean Ennis, Gabrielle Gershon, Nikolas Gianoulis, Daniel Gitelman, Colman Glagovich, Joseph Hochman, Merrill Hoelzel, Brendan Horan, Aditi Joshi, Yusuf Malik, Edward McManus, Grace Miller, Alessandra Mitrano, Abinaya Niranjan, Nicholas Paul, Noah Sobel-Pressman, Cameron Tripp and Dale Yu. Additionally, the following 2016 graduates: Basel Alnajjar, Sophia Altimari, Hannah Boyce, Emma Brody, Julia Colliton, Madeline Defilippis, Noah Del Coro, Julia Demichele, Noah Drazen, Owen Farley, Sean Farley, Talia Feldman, Lili Fishman, Jacob Ginden, Philip Gitman, Nathan Graber-Lipperman, Allyson Graulich, Alison Greene, Jack Hutensky, Justin Katz, Aidan Kidder-Wolff, Margaret Kinabrew, Caroline Kriesen, Adrienne La Forte, James Leung, Lily Levin, Chloe Li, Michael Li, Nicholas Lombardo, Grace Luipold, Maggie Mahoney, Madison Manning, Thomas McManus, Ashvini Melkote, Akriti Mishra, Natalie Nanez, Arun Narikatte, Bethany Onyirimba, Hima Patel, Bridget Patterson, Grace Percival, Celina Porcaro, Carolyn Roche, Aleksandr Samegulin, Connor Sandstrom, Noah Schulman, Miriam Schwartz, Joseph Siegel, Michael Stambler, Molly Sullivan, Marina Tinone, Lucas Vannie, Samuel Weinberg, Anna Welch, Jakob Woods Weber, Zhihui Xu, Zhiya Xu, Corona Zhang and Yutin Zhao.

Thirty-one (31) students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. They are current Hall students Talha Bhatti, Giselle Epstein, Samuel Fiske, Marissa Freed, Lydia Henning, Karina Heye-Smith, Qasim Malik, Maria Maturana, Samuel Palczewski, Alexandra Tomb, Jeanne Wang, Andrew White, Caroline Wisialowski and Sophia Zeidner. Additionally, the following 2016 graduates: Zachary Adler, Jason Aldave, Grant Bannister, Margaret Barnett, Joshua Binkhorst, Lydia Chelli, Kyler Cubbage, Claudia Hess, Jack Kanaga, Rafaela Laurentino, Lydia Loiselle, Jose Paz Soldan, Thomas Rattigan, Karo Shakhnazarov, April Small, Lily Zanta and Lena Zhang.

Seventy-nine (79) students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by earning a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. They are current Hall students Inna Abalyan, Victoria Abalyan, Jeffrey Beach, Nicholas Becker, Lee Brown, Xiang Cai, Sarah Cates, Cammie Cho, Michael Ciccarello, Grace Coll, Ilana Davidoff, Daniel Davidson, Elizabeth Devine, Rexford Dorchester, Samuel Dunlap, Audrey Fromson, Katherine Gillis, Caroline Grant, Prithvi Guddera, Sarah Harinstein, Drew Harker, Daisy Li, Hannah Maynard, Seth Meisler, Nina Mirontchik, Sara Mohamedzein, Olivia Moran, Saomai Nguyen, Andrew Oh, Caroline O’Keefe, Patrick O’Keefe, Jonathan Peikes, Eli Perry, Margaret Price, Cody Richter, Caleb Ritter, Julia Silverman, Irene Sullivan, Andrew Swain, Alexander Terne, Tara Tiernan, Veronica Tsvok, Jose Vasquez, Sydney Weiser, Jessie Xu, Talia Zeidner. Seven Hall students qualified for the AP Capstone Diploma by earning a score of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP exams. They are current Hall seniors Bedi Gaganjot, Gabrielle Gershon, Nikolas Gianoulis, Joseph Hochman, Grace Miller, Noah Sobel-Pressman and Dale Yu.

Seven Hall students qualified for the AP Seminar and Research Certificate by earning a score of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research. They are current Hall seniors David Cohen, Brendan Horan, Nina Mirontchik, Nicholas Paul, Margaret Price, Caroline Wisialowski and Talia Zeidner.

Through 38 different college-level courses and exams, AP provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced placement and stand out in the college admission process.
