Hall High School Announces AP Scholar Awards

A total of 166 students from West Hartford’s Hall High School earned AP Scholar Awards in 2015.

A total of 166 current students and 2015 graduates of Hall High School have earned the designation of AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams. About 22 percent of the nearly 2.2 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.

Students took AP Exams in May 2015 after completing challenging college-level courses at their high schools. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on a student’s performance on AP exams. Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest possible score.

At Hall High School, nine (9) students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. They are 2015 graduates Leah Goldman, Mikayla Gordon Wexler, Jacob Graber-Lipperman, Gillian Hixson, Tanner Hoelzel, Andrei Lioutikov, Caroline Monnes, and Sophie Wheeler, as well as current Hall senior Marina Tinone.

Fifty-seven (57) Hall students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. They are 2015 graduates Antonia Alquist, Max Aronow, Andrea Barrows, Diane Berlinsky, Helen Chavey, Samantha Cohen, Taylor Coursey, Ryan Cudemus-Brunoli, Thomas Davis, Michelle Dicke, Emily DiMatteo, Olivia Di Poi, Liam Evans, Raymond Fagan, George Fiske, Alyssa Freiman, Sydney Gellerman, Emma Gibson, Sophia Glagovich, Stephanie Gomez, Kyle Jeter, Martin Kaehrle, Miriam Katz, Kathleen Keegan, Jasmine Kunnummel, Ian Kunsey, Elizabeth Maier, Mary Majerus-Collins, Sami Malhas, Grant O’Connor, Serena Phu, Kaitlin Rogers, Apoorva Sajan, Jody Therieault, William Wright, Jason Yip, Monica Zhang, and Jackson Zinn-Rowthorn. Additionally the following current Hall seniors: Sophia Altimari, Jacob Cantor, Talia Feldman, Philip Gitman, Jack Hutensky, Margaret Kinabrew, Caroline Kriesen, Chloe Li, Nicholas Lombardo, Thomas McManus, Akriti Mishra, Eric Mohan, Bethany Onyirimba, Noah Schulman, Joseph Siegel, Michael Stambler, Samuel Weinberg, and Jakob Woods Weber, as well as current Hall junior Dale Yu.

Thirty-five (35) students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. They are 2015 graduates Sean Aspell, John Cassidy, Jacob Cohen, Jeslyn Dinowitz, Schuyler Evan Fica-Goetzel, Jacob Fischman, Rachael Graves, Alexander Healy, Guillermo Irizarry Lambright, Olivia Kalsner Kershen, Victoria Martin, Patrick McHale, Evan Molodetz, Robert Parra, Remony Perlman, Naomi Perry, Amelia Rosenthal-Baxter, Amschel Rothschild, Elizabeth Salzman-Fiske, Yelena Samofalova, Kyle Schaff, Hannah Shafer, David Van Doren, Claire Wyman and Anna Zinzarella. Additionally, the following current Hall students: Nathaniel Baldwin, Samuel Bidwell, Noah Drazen, James Leung, Lily Levin, Grace Luipold, Madison Manning, Arun Narikatte, Hima Patel and Bridget Patterson.

Sixty-five (65) students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by earning a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. They are 2015 graduates Devon Aldave, Janet Alquist, Jenna Behan, Caroline Bemis, Emily Bobruff, Ethan Bravin, Francis Byrne, Luis Cruz, Laura David, Eva Dougherty, Jessica Figgie, Julia Fuller, Madison Gaucher, Benjamin Harney, Carolynn Humble, Samuel Katten, Hannah Leyland, Abigail Linstone, Madeline Linstone, Sonia Livingston, Anna McClear, Quinn Mitchell, Mackenzie Molodetz, Jair Perez, Elena Pevar, Anthony Poon, Lauren Reiss, Patrick Russell, Viktor Shcheglov, Melanie Sillman, Nathan Silverman, Yoshino Toi, Tiana Tran, Michelle Zhang, and Yuheng Zhang. Additionally, the following current Hall students: Emma Brody, Xiang Cai, Julia Colliton, Kyler Cubbage, Trevor Darling, Owen Farley, Sean Farley, Lili Fishman, Jacob Gershon, Jacob Ginden, Daniel Gitelman, Allyson Graulich, Alison Greene, Joseph Hochman, Justin Katz, Adrienne La Forte, Rafaela Laurentino, Michael Li, Gabriel Lichtenstein, Yusuf Malik, Ashvini Melkote, Natalie Nanez, Jose Paz Soldan, Grace Percival, Celina Porcaro, Carolyn Roche, Miriam Schwartz, Karo Shakhnazarov, Zhihui Xu and Zhiya Xu.

Through 34 different college-level courses and exams, AP provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced placement and stand out in the college admission process.
