Small gestures can make a big difference in someone’s day.

Benjamin Albert said that his 7-year-old son, Dylan came up with the idea to hand out flowers to “spread happiness.”

Albert said that Dylan enlisted the help of his 10-year-old sister, Ysabel, and together the pair stood on the corner of Farmington Avenue and LaSalle Road on Saturday and handed out bouquets. The flowers were donated by Buds in Bloom.

In a Facebook post, Albert said that about 5 percent of the people seemed uncomfortable with the random, nice gesture, while another 5 percent seemed to think there was a “catch” tied something for sale or an underlying message.

“The rest of the people brought even more happiness to the kids,” Albert said.
