We are the bow tied around your brightly wrapped present, the gleaming star atop your Tannenbaum, the high note in your Jingle Bell Rock, and the surprise at the very bottom of your stocking. We are MAMA D’S Christmas Stocking, a celebration of all things sexy and bawdy in an evening of music, dance and comedy. Shows began Dec. 9 and run on selected dates through Dec. 30.

Mama D is back and outrageous as ever, and this time she’s planning a show with a holiday twist. Come in from the cold as we heat things up at the Playhouse and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with MAMA D’S Christmas Stocking!

Director and Choreographer Darlene Zoller is the co-founder of Playhouse on Park where she has directed and choreographed CHICAGO (Best Director of a Musical/Broadway World) SWINGING ON A STAR, THAT HOLIDAY FEELING and A Chorus Line. Other choreography credits include: PASSING STRANGE, CABARET, HAIR, FRECKLEFACE STRAWBERRY,  A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD among others. Zoller was voted Best Director of a Musical/Broadway World for I’D RATHER BE DANCING. She IS Mama D of MAMA D’s OUTRAGEOUS ROMP; a grown ups only music, dance and comedy event exclusive to the Playhouse. Darlene is an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School where she directed and choreographed CHICAGO and did the choreography for ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, SMILE and the upcoming CURTAINS.

Colin Britt returns as Music Director for Mama D’s Christmas Stocking. Originally from Maine, Colin  Britt holds a bachelor’s degree in music composition from the Hartt School, a master’s degree in choral conducting from the Yale School of Music, and a doctorate in choral conducting from Rutgers University. He has conducted the Rutgers University Choir, the Hartford Chorale Chamber Singers, the Hartt Choir and Camerata, and as one of the conductors with C4 (The Choral Composer-Conductor Collective). Musical direction credits include COMPANY, CHICAGO, CABARET, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, and MAMA D’S at Playhouse on Park, and SINGIN IN THE RAIN, SWEENEY TODD, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and JOSEPH, at theaters in Connecticut and Maine. In Fall 2016, he has served on the conducting faculty at SUNY New Paltz, and he currently serves as music director for Grace Church Van Vorst in Jersey City, and conducts the West Village Chorale and Amuse Singers in New York and North River Sing in Jersey City.

So what can audience members expect? Some things nice, but mostly naughty! You’ll experience a night filled with laughter as the crew of sultry performers give the gift of laughter, entertainment and merriment. It’ll be nuttier than your weird Aunt Sophie’s fruitcake! And feel free to bring some spiked eggnog as this event is BYOB. MAMA D WARNS: this show is not for everyone. We’re rude, we’re crude and we’re partially nude!

Performances run Dec. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m., Dec. 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m., and Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 each, all seats reserved.

A special New Year’s Eve show has been planned with dancing, hearty finger foods, and more debauchery to ring in the New Year! After the clock strikes 12, dessert and champagne will be served. All tickets for this event will be priced at $60, all seats reserved.

For tickets, please call our box office at 860-523-5900 x10 or visit www.playhouseonpark.org. Playhouse on Park is located at 244 Park Rd., West Hartford, CT 06119.
