On Saturday night before Valentine’s Day, Holy Family Retreat Center has something special in store for sweethearts and love bugs everywhere.

It’s Holy Family’s annual “Hearts and Wine” Valentine’s gourmet dinner, a unique and delicious way to say “I love you” to your significant other, Mom, Dad, children, or even yourself! Couples and singles are more than welcome, along with families and groups of friends.

The festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, with cocktail hour and appetizers. A three-course meal follows, accompanied by three wines specially selected to complement the meal.

As many who’ve visited Holy Family will attest, the retreat center is renowned not only for its outstanding spiritual nourishment, but also for the world-class physical nourishment it provides to those who visit and then go home and rave about the food. Executive Chef Joe Ethier is a master of healthy, fresh home cooking reminiscent of the comforting meals you had as a child visiting your grandmother’s house on Sunday.

Joe’s talents will be on display with a Valentine’s menu that includes spicy roasted tiger shrimp, chateaubriand with béarnaise sauce, Maine lobster cassoulet, nine-spice Moroccan stew, Long Island duck confit potato hash, olive oil whipped potatoes and more. Among the luscious desserts:  chocolate heart-shaped mousse cake with espresso cream Anglaise, and assorted finger treats.

The cost to attend is $75 per person. For more information or to register, call the retreat center at 860-760-9705, or visit www.holyfamilyretreat.org/valentine.
