To the Editor:

This November 8th it should be an easy decision to vote for Senator Beth Bye’s re-election. Senator Bye has dedicated her time in office to improving the lives of constituents in her district and throughout the state. She supports and represents every member within her district, especially those without privilege and without a voice.

My family resides in West Hartford and is a licensed foster/adoptive home. Last year, when my family and the biological family of a foster child in our care had concerns over the State’s plan for the child, we contacted Senator Bye. Senator Bye answered our call, listened to our concerns and supported the child and family throughout the process. She spent a great deal of time helping this one child. A child, who had nothing to offer Bye but a child who desperately needed her support.

Many days I am still in shock over how responsive Senator Bye was to the needs of the young child in our care. Her actions and the commitment that she demonstrated for this one foster child speak to her character and integrity. There is no one who is needed more in our Senate than Beth Bye.
