This summer, introduce your budding young actor to theater through creative play and interactive fun at Playhouse on Park! Registration for Kids On Stage is now open to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The class runs in two sessions: session one starts June 26 through June 30, and session two starts July 24 through July 28

Kids On Stage focuses around the three disciplines of music, drama and the arts. Children will be introduced to theatre through creative play. Exercises and games will focus on acting through storytelling, creating a character, expressing a feeling, music, and movement. A craft and story will often be included. By the end of the class, students should be using their bodies and voices to start to create characters. Students will be split throughout the day within an effort to maximize ability levels.

Though the emphasis of the class will be on developing skills and not on a final performance, family and friends are invited to the last class to see students present scenes. Students may participate in short adaptations of Frozen, 101 Dalmatians, Moana and more! All students enrolled in Session 1 of Kids OnStage receive free entrance to the Musical Theatre Preparatory Program Showcase on Friday, July 21.
