Socceropolis, LLC, a unique and educational soccer program for elementary-aged children, has entered into an agreement with the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford.   The multi-year agreement permits Socceropolis the use of the school’s fields and gymnasium for a new year-round soccer program including classes and camps for boys and girls ages four to 10.

The first camp kicks off on Dec. 28and registrations are currently underway.

Socceropolis, founded in 1997 in Santa Monica, California, coaches more than 100 kids a week and provides a unique approach to the sport focused on the foundation of skills and love for the game.

“We are excited to bring our West Coast program to West Hartford,” said Coach Milton Ortega. “Originally a Connecticut native, I am thrilled to get back to my roots and share my passion for the sport with the children in the West Hartford and greater Hartford market.”

Ortega has spent the past 20 years honing in on his craft of coaching youth soccer. Albeit humble, Ortega has coached some of Hollywood’s elite such as Tom Hanks, Jodie Foster, Sharon Stone and J.J. Abrams, to name a few. He has also appeared in various TV commercials and print ads for Nike, Powerade, ESPN, Fox Sports, World Cup FIFA, McDonalds as well as Olympus Digital Camera. He received his foundation for soccer by training with his father and older siblings beginning at the age of three.

“My philosophy is to treat every child and their situation with patience, persistence, understanding, and care,” said Ortega. “The adolescent years are about building foundation and true love for the game.”

Socceropolis is currently enrolling for its winter indoor camp being held December 28-30 from 9 a.m. to noon. Sessions are broken out among beginner, intermediate player and experienced club players. Socceropolis will provide the training that will best fit their needs in a safe and fun environment.
