‘Summer Sounds’ at Blue Back Square Includes Free Music and Accompanying Dining Offers

“Summer Sounds” got underway on July 16, 2015, with a crowd of people gathered in front of the gazebo outside Barnes & Noble in Blue Back Square to enjoy the classic sounds of the Rob Zappula Jazz Band.

“Summer Sounds,” which has been rebranded but has highlighted summer evenings in Blue Back Square for years as “A Little Thursday Night Music,” has an engaging schedule of local performers remaining on the schedule which runs through Thursday, Aug. 20.

“There are some great dining deals, too,” said Blue Back Square Marketing Director Elizabeth Zigmont. “Just mention ‘Summer Sounds,'” she said. The offers are available before, during, and after the concerts, Zigmont said.

The July 23 concert begins at 7:30 p.m., and the remainder of the performances will begin at 6:30 p.m. The concerts are being produced by PowerStation events. For updates and weather-related changs in the schedule, visit the Blue Back Square Facebook Events page.

Thursday, July 23, 7:30 p.m. – Rev Tor Band
Get ready to dance to music of The Band and more! A powerhouse of the east coast club and festival scene, the Rev Tor Band’s eclectic flair, bouncy guitar lines and funky rhythms make you want to move.

Thursday, July 30, 6:30 p.m. – Tracy Walton Band
New England Music Award nominee for Best Male Performer, Tracy Walton, gives classic acoustic music a spirit, depth and hopeful voice that audiences love.

Thursday, Aug. 6, 6:30 p.m. – Nekita Waller
Known for her impressive music repertoire and diverse vocal talents, Nekita Waller brings sweet, sultry rhythm to her R&B originals.

Thursday, Aug. 13, 6:30 p.m. – Harold Zinno and the Old Skool Band
Jazz-lovers will truly enjoy the smooth and bright style of Harold Zinno’s masterful trumpet skills. Enjoy a night of big-band, funk and fun-time tunes!

Thursday, Aug. 20, 6:30 p.m. – Jeff Touhy
This Billboard Award-winning gritty, soul singer knows how to stun a crowd with a perfect blend of rock, hip-hop and R&B. Listeners will love his creative musicianship and edgy musical flair.

 

According to the events tab on the Blue Back Square website, the following dining offers are also available during Summer Sounds events:

  • Posh Tomato – Enjoy a free dessert pie with any order of $25 or more OR your choice of cheese, pepperoni, meatball or sausage pizza plus fountain drink for $7.99.
  • Rizzuto’s Restaurant – Save 20 percent off your entire check.
  • World of Beer – Save 20 percent off all food items.
  • Vinted Wine Bar & Kitchen – 20 percent off entire bill when you spend $50 or more.
  • Besito Mexican – $5 appetizers & margaritas, $4 cervezas from 4 – 6p.m.
