On an evening when the outside temperature dropped to arctic levels, the atmosphere inside the Saint Brigid School gymnasium was warm and friendly, a welcome respite for the more than 200 guests who enjoyed the Elmwood Business Association’s “Second Annual Taste of Elmwood” event.

Ten restaurants from the Elmwood section of West Hartford brought their specialties for guests to sample. Favorites included HB Seafood’s lobster bisque, Greek salad from Tapas, shepherd’s pie courtesy of the Corner Pug, a selection of pizza from both Pepe’s and Elmwood Pizza, a Peruvian chicken stew from Cora Cora (that disappeared very quickly), and several quiches as well as ravioli from Fernwood. Sliders’ raspberry wings were also a crowd pleaser.

Those who still had room for dessert enjoyed a selection of cakes and tarts from Classic Cakes as well as Rita’s Italian ices.

Two Pour Guys provided beverages, served from their “glowing” bar.

Taste of Elmwood is a fundraiser for both the Elmwood Business Association and Saint Brigid School. It was sponsored by Jerry’s Artarama and J.P. Carroll Construction.
