Paul Halley is a renowned, Grammy-winning performer and compose who blends musical influences of sacred chant, hymns, jazz, gospel, and world music. His accompaniments frequently include jazz and unique percussion instruments in addition to the piano and organ.

The featured guest artist at Sunday’s concert will be renowned gospel singer Theresa Thomason. Theresa has performed internationally and for the Dali Lama at the Kennedy Center. This past January, she was a soloist with the Paul Winter Consort at the Winter Solstice celebration at St. John the Devine. This marks her third appearance as a soloist at First Church.

The Adult Choir of First Church and Westminster Presbyterian Choirs join forces to present an afternoon of the choral music on Sunday, April 9, beginning at 3 p.m. They will perform some favorite Paul Halley anthems, as well as some new ones that they are learning especially for this concert.

Free parking behind the church at 12 South Main Street, West Hartford. Enter from the parking lot (at the rotunda) and take the elevator up, or you may use the large South Main Street staircase to enter the Meeting House. Proceeds from a freewill offering will be donated to a cause supported by both churches.
