West Hartford Police Investigating Reported Gunshots at Apartment Complex

West Hartford Police received reports of at least one gunshot fired in at a West Hartford apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

West Hartford Police responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tuesday afternoon, and are continuing to investigate the incident, Sgt. Christopher Day said Tuesday night.

According to police, reports of shots fired in the parking lot of 80 Kane St. were received at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Police said that, according to witnesses, at least one shot was fired at the occupants of a vehicle parked in the lot.

Police said that according to witness reports, the shooter and intended victims fled in two black sedans before police arrived at the scene.

No reported victims have been identified, police said.

Day said that the incident remains under investigation, and information about any further evidence that has been developed cannot be released at this time.
