Beachland Tavern Jets 28, Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys 0 – The Beachland Tavern Jets won their sixth straight game with a hard fought 28-0 victory over the Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys Sunday afternoon at Sterling Field. It was perfect fall day when the Jets met the Cowboys for the second time this season. The Jets picked up where they left off last week. They demonstrated excellent play offensively, defensively, and on special teams. Although the Jets’ defense was challenged by strong running from the Cowboys, they were able to hold them off by using great pursuit angles and gang tackling. The Jets’ linebackers covered the pass well and got another interception this week. The Cowboys’ defense played well too, but the Jets’ running and passing games were firing on all cylinders. The Jets’ offensive line played exceptionally well and created nice running lanes for the backs and clean pockets for the quarterbacks. The Jets’ running backs ran hard and fast, showing great conviction and instincts. The passing attack was 3 for 4 with a 20 yard reception, a 20 yard reception for a touchdown and a two point conversion. The Jets (6-0) will move on to play the Southington Lions (4-2), while the Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys (3-3) will play the Watts Group Steelers (1-5).
