Ballet Theatre Company (BTC) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, based in West Hartford, CT, supporting the arts and children in the Greater Hartford community. Since its founding in 1999, BTC has trained countless, aspiring professional dancers, has staged live-action entertainment, and has continued to enrich the community through its youth outreach program.
BTC kicks off their school classes, Tuesday, Sept. 5, and is thrilled to announce a variety of new and exciting things added to the 2017-18 fall term. Most notably, BTC is under the new Artistic Direction of Stephanie Dattellas who joins the company from Syracuse, NY, where she was most recently the ballet mistress of the Syracuse City Ballet. Dattellas has staged full length classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, and The Nutcracker, working with professional dancers from companies all over the country including; New York City Ballet, ABT, Pennsylvania Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, and many more. Dattellas is thrilled to bring a new energy to the company, and hopes to engage the community through new performances and events.
BTC offers high caliber training for dancers ages 4 through adult under a diverse quality teaching staff that ranks BTC as one of the top ballet schools in the Greater Hartford area. This year BTC will add new classes such as Contemporary Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Character Dance, and Dance Yoga to the schedule, as well as continue to offer Mommy and Me, Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz and Modern classes.
We would like to invite all interested dancers to experience what Ballet Theatre Company has to offer. Prospective students are welcome to take a trial class at no charge for fall class placement.
