The Hall High School Band has been marching in West Hartford’s Memorial Day Parade every year since the parade has existed.

This year, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the band members have been distance learning and the parade has been canceled.

That hasn’t stopped the music, however.

“Over the past several weeks, the Hall Concert Band collaborated to create this Memorial Day tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” Director of Bands James Antonucci said in a message to families. “Even though we are physically apart, it felt good to come together virtually to provide a service for the community. Though it won’t replace the spectacle of a parade on Memorial Day, hopefully it will contribute to our wonderful community here in West Hartford!”

Antonucci’s wife, Rachel, is the music department chair for Canton Schools, and members of the Canton High School Band collaborated with the Hall students for the tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
