Spend a Saturday night sipping wines, noshing on samples from several of West Hartford’s finest restaurants, winning prizes, and doing good. This is no tall winter’s tale: it’s the Rotary Club at your service!
The wine tasting and live auction will take place at West Hartford’s Mandell JCC (335 Bloomfield Ave.) from 7-10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015. WFSB 3 Television’s Kara Sundlun and Dennis House will return as the event’s Honorary Chairs and emcees.
Farmington’s Wine Cellars 4 will offer samplings from its wide selection for tasting; food will be provided by a number of area restaurants including Beachland Tavern, Black Bamboo, The Corner Pug, Crown Market, Fleming’s Steakhouse, Harry’s Bishops Corner Pizza, J. Restaurant/Bar, A Little Something Bakery, Pepe’s Pizza, Treva, Umi Sushi & Tapas and Yosi Kosher Catering. Tickets cost $50 per person and benefit the Rotary Club’s charitable projects.
“Our Vines of March tasting and auction does so much good long after the night is over,” explained event chairperson Donna Griffen. “This year alone, we supported local projects including the University of Saint Joseph/Grace Academy STEM program, NICU webcam initiatives in area hospitals, the Sixth Grade Writing Project, the Dictionary Project, and West Hartford’s Gifts of Music program. This evening of food, wine and friendship celebrates these projects and others Rotary takes on locally, regionally, and around the globe,” Griffen added.
Tickets are available online at www.westhartfordrotary.org. For more information about The Vines of March, phone Rotarian Donna Griffen at 860.690.6799.
