The Kingswood Oxford Middle School will host the 4th Annual Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social fundraiser on Monday, Apr. 24, from 4-6:30 p.m., on the Senior Green of the campus at 170 Kingswood Rd., steps from Blue Back Square in West Hartford.

The event is open to the public.

For $10, supporters will receive a handmade ceramic bowl overflowing with ice cream and toppings. The event will also feature a poetry reading that guests can enjoy while they eat their ice cream.

All proceeds will go to Loaves & Fishes Ministries, a food pantry in Hartford where middle school students volunteer each week. Empty Bowls is an international grassroots coalition that works to end world hunger. Ice cream and supplies are being donated by Whole Foods and Hood.
