Fourteen individuals who either live or work in West Hartford will be among the “40 Under Forty”   honored at the Hartford Business Journal’s 22nd celebration on Sept. 27, 2018 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown.

This year there were 164 people nominated, and judges noted that it was very difficult to choose the honorees for the Class of 2018.

“Each of this year’s honorees have demonstrated strong leadership in their careers and an unwavering commitment to strengthening the communities in which they live, work, and play,” Joe Zwiebel, president and publisher of the Hartford Business Journal, said in a news release announcing the winners. “We are pleased to recognize their accomplishments and welcome them to our growing network of distinguished ’40 Under Forty’ alumni.”

All of the honorees were asked to respond to the following two questions: “What must the Greater Hartford region do to attract more talented young professionals to the area? What do you hope Greater Hartford will be like in 10 years?” The responses provided by each honoree can be found under their individual profile pages.

“Many of our honorees expressed optimism for the region’s future, but also acknowledged there is much more work to be done to make us competitive with other vibrant cities,” Hartford Business Journal editor Greg Bordonaro said in his introduction to the article about the winners.

Ted Carroll, Wilson Camelo, and Julie Daly Meehan were this year’s judges.
