Another Motorcycle and Passenger Car Collision Results in Injuries in West Hartford

For the second day in a row in West Hartford, a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle has resulted in injuries.

The operator of a motorcycle collided with a passenger car on a West Hartford roadway Monday evening. resulting in serious injuries and the closure of the roadway, Capt. Peter Juda said.

According to Juda, the incident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Monday in the area of Fern Street and Mountain Road. The operator of the motorcycle, identified only as an “adult,” sustained what appeared to be serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, police said.

There were no apparent injuries to the operator of the passenger car involved in the incident, according to police.

Police said the West Hartford Police Department Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team is involved in the investigation of the incident, and as of 9:15 p.m. Fern Street was still closed to traffic between Mountain Road and Willowbrook Road, and expected to remain closed for several more hours. Police have advised motorists to seek alternate routes.

This is the second day in a row that there has been a collision between a motorcycle and a car in West Hartford, resulting in injuries and the closure of a busy roadway. On Sunday evening, there was a collision between a motorcycle and passenger on Albany Avenue, near the MDC Reservoir No. 6.
