[Updated] Multiple bear sightings in the Mountain Road Area this week.

Forget about ‘dog days’ of summer, West Hartford’s Northwest corner seems to be having ‘bear days’ of summer. Multiple bear sightings have been reported in the areas of: Cliffmore Road, Mountain Road, Day Road, Route 44 Reservoir and one was seen in the Flagg Road garden area on Monday morning.

So far the encounters that We-Ha.com knows about have been peaceful and from a safe distance.

For some good reminders on how to behave safely when you encounter a bear, as well as tips on discouraging bears from visiting your area, please visit the DEEP website, and enjoy these photos from a safe distance!

Update: Here’s some video of a bear seen crossing the Saddle Ridge Drive at approximatley 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Thanks to Greg Book for sending it to us! https://youtu.be/vuVnbatVfvg
