Ben Bronz Academy proudly announces that it has earned accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS).

“Earning both of these accreditations is a major milestone that validates our efforts to provide a top-tier educational experience,” said Gail Lanza, Ed.D., Executive Director of Ben Bronz Academy. “It assures our students, parents, and community that we meet the highest standards of quality and are dedicated to preparing students for future success.”

NEASC accreditation is awarded following a rigorous, multi-year process involving deep reflection, comprehensive self-study, and an intensive review by educational professionals. The evaluation examines every aspect of a school’s program – from curriculum and instruction to student support services, leadership, and community engagement – to ensure adherence to high standards and a commitment to continuous improvement. This recognition affirms the strength of the Academy’s mission, the dedication of its faculty and staff, and its unwavering commitment to supporting the unique learning needs of every student.

Similarly, CAIS accreditation reflects a comprehensive review of the school’s educational program, governance, financial sustainability, and adherence to best practices in independent school education. The process includes an in-depth self-study and evaluation by a visiting team of experienced educators who assess how effectively the school fulfills its mission and serves its students. CAIS accreditation confirms that Ben Bronz Academy meets rigorous, research-based standards tailored to students with disabilities.

Receiving accreditation from both NEASC and CAIS is a meaningful affirmation of the strength, integrity, and impact of the Ben Bronz Academy’s program. It reflects more than 40 years of dedication to maintaining high standards, engaging in thoughtful reflection, and continuously improving to meet the evolving needs of students and families. These accreditations represent not just an achievement, but an ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation, and care.

Founded in 1985, Ben Bronz Academy is a day school serving students in grades 1-12, as well as young adults ages 18-22 through its transition program. The Ben Bronz Academy provides individualized educational programs for students with significant learning disabilities, empowering them to develop lifelong learning skills, achieve academic success, and build self-confidence.

Currently located at 11 Wampanoag Drive in West Hartford, Ben Bronz Academy will relocate to a larger campus in East Hartford beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. The expanded campus will enable the Ben Bronz Academy to serve a growing number of students requiring specialized education services.
