West Hartford YMCA and Camp Jewell YMCA will hold their Annual Benefit Night – Window to the World –  on Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium, 50 South Main St., West Hartford.

Proceeds will provide families, regardless of their ability to pay, with residential camp opportunities at Camp Jewell and programs at the West Harford YMCA.

With your help, the “Y” can send over 500 children to summer camp, provide a safe place for children to continue to learn in their after school enrichment programs, provide the LIVESTRONG cancer survivors exercise program to over 300 individuals at no charge, teach teamwork and confidence to over 1,000 kids through sports programs, and provide the important life skill of swimming to more than 500 children.

“The life skills children in need can gain from a camp experience cannot be understated,” said Ray Zetye, Camp Jewell YMCA’s executive director. “An opportunity to practice social skills, be physically active and make choices for themselves gives young people improved self-esteem, strengthens coping skills, and combats summer learning loss.”

Hartford Distributors, HDI, and The Wise Old Dog will be the evening’s beverage vendor and will be providing guests with several different wines and beers to taste and purchase throughout the evening. Radio personality, Mark ”the Shark” Christopher, will act as MC for the night, and our headline performer will be Oz (pronounced Oh-Z) Pearlman, Mentalist Magician and finalist on Season 10 of America’s Got Talent.

The event will feature both silent and live auctions including a New York Professional Sports Teams Package, a stay in a historic Maine lake house, a brewery tour and hotel package in Chicago and much more. Food for the event will be donated by five outstanding local restaurants; Black Eyed Sally’s, First & Last Tavern, Chengdu, Ted’s Montana Grill, and Salute.

The YMCA would like to thank these restaurants, their donors for providing the auction items, as well as their sponsors: Atria, Simplex Grinnel, Hoffman Auto Group, Lynn’s Gourmet Hot Sauce, and Quest Pest Control. Special Thanks to HDI and The Wise Old Dog!

Wine will be available for order at the event, full case orders will provide purchasers with a chance to win a free two-week overnight camp session at Camp Jewell YMCA in Colebrook, CT, or two free weeks at the West Hartford YMCA’s Summer Adventure Camp.

Tickets for the event are $60 each, $70 at the door if tickets are still available, and can be purchased online at www.campjewell.org/benefit or by calling Camp Jewell at 888-412-CAMP.
