On Nov. 1, 2016, the Bridge Family Center will kick off a social media campaign using the hashtag #thisishowIbridge. As the youth service bureau for West Hartford, Bridge staff work each day to build bridges and connections that support youth and families in our community. Throughout the month of November, they will feature daily posts on Instagram illustrating the ways they intersect with people and organizations in our area. They invite you to do the same.
“There are so many people and organizations doing good work in our community,” says Amanda Aronson, Director of Marketing & Communications for the Bridge. “We want to celebrate our collective effort and inspire people to keep good work going. What better time than November, the month of Thanksgiving, to remind us just how many dedicated people we have keeping our community strong.”
The Bridge would also like to see teens participate. “Teens do many things each day to build connections. For instance, they may interpret for speakers of other languages, volunteer, teach, participate in unified arts activities, use graphic design to convey the feelings of others, or share informational content via social media.” says Aronson. “They may not think about those things as building bridges and connecting efforts, but that is absolutely what they are doing – and it makes a difference. As adults, we can encourage teens to think about what they do to help others, and we can celebrate it.”
The Bridge is on Instagram as @bridgefamilycenter. Join the campaign at #thisishowIbridge.
