Kingswood Oxford’s Camp KO Summer 2025 is thrilled to introduce an array of engaging summer programs designed to connect students entering grades 5-9 with their community, environment, and future aspirations. These immersive experiences aim to foster curiosity, confidence, and practical skills while making lasting memories.

Outdoor Adventure Week

Campers will explore local trails, dive into the wonders of nature, and learn essential survival skills, including how to catch a fish with just a string and build a fire. Hands-on science lessons will enhance their appreciation of the natural world as they develop self-reliance and teamwork.

Trailblazers: An All-Girl Hiking Week

Led by inspiring role models Lhakpa Sherpa, the world-record-holding Everest climber and featured in Netflix’s documentary, “Mountain Queen, and hiking blogger, Kristen Valenti, this program is about more than hiking. Girls will lead, build confidence, and create a supportive environment while forming strong bonds as a team.

Money Moves: Mastering Financial Smarts

In this practical program, campers will visit a local bank manager, insurance agent, and investment advisor in West Hartford Center. Through these hands-on experiences, they’ll learn budgeting, saving, and investing skills to develop a foundation of financial literacy that will serve them for life.

Restaurant Review Week

Budding food critics will visit popular eateries in West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square to sample local cuisine and craft thoughtful reviews. They’ll also learn website-building skills, creating an online page to share their critiques – a perfect blend of creativity, collaboration, and community exploration.

CT Museum Week

Campers will journey through Connecticut’s rich history by visiting local museums, uncovering fascinating stories about the state’s heritage. This program blends education with adventure, sparking a deeper understanding of the past and an appreciation for the treasures close to home.

“At Camp KO, we focus on connection – whether it’s with nature, the community, or new skills,” said Sheri Slobin Shea, Auxiliary Program Director. “These programs give kids the chance to explore their interests, build confidence, and develop friendships in a supportive and inspiring environment.”

Parents can imagine their children hiking local trails, creating fire-starting sparks, chatting with financial experts, savoring culinary experiences, or stepping back in time at Connecticut museums. Camp KO offers unforgettable opportunities for kids to grow and thrive.

Camp KO is open to all children entering grades 3-10 and provides programs in sports, academics, and arts. Camp runs June 18-Aug. 8 on the Kingswood Oxford Campus in West Hartford. Learn more and register now at campko.com. Spaces are limited!
