In a much-anticipated crosstown showdown, the Conard boys lacrosse team claimed bragging rights with a decisive 10-5 victory over Hall team on May 21.

Although Hall opened the scoring with an early burst of energy, Conard’s offense quickly took control and never looked back.

Hall got on the board early with two goals in the first five minutes – one from senior Wells Gengras and another by fellow senior Michael Griffin-Prado. The Titans looked poised to build momentum, but their lead was short-lived.

Conard responded with seven unanswered goals before halftime, dominating possession and exposing holes in Hall’s defense. Four of those goals came from senior Luke Shaffer, who carved up the Titan defense.

Conard’s balanced attack was on full display throughout the game, with Brady Cersosimo and Liam Alver each contributing two goals of their own. Nick Katsaros and Ben Walsh also added one apiece to round out the Red Wolves’ scoring.

Despite a fiery halftime speech from Hall’s coaching staff and a short-lived surge in the third and beginning of the fourth quarter, the Titans were unable to close the gap.

Tommy Finley notched one goal, and Drew Manaresi added two more in the effort though . However, Conard’s strong goaltending and defense held firm under pressure.

Conard now has completed the regular season with an astounding 13-3 record. Hall has competed the season with a 7-8 record.

Conard is ranked No. 4 in Class L, and Hall is No. 11, with both teams qualifying for post-season play.
