The Conard High School boys ice hockey team dropped a 6-3 decision to Glastonbury High School at Trinity College’s Koeppel Community Center in Hartford on Wednesday night.

Glastonbury scored four goals in the second period to break a 1-1 tie, capitalizing on turnovers or defensive lapses by Conard for many of its opportunities.

Senior Tyler Sadak led the way for the Tomahawks with two goals, scoring the game’s first goal with 12:13 left in the first period and putting Glastonbury up 5-1 with 2:42 remaining in the second.

The Chieftains responded to Sadak’s first tally with a goal from senior Paul Wilson with 6:09 left in the first period.

Wilson notched his second goal of the game with 1:13 left in the second period. Senior Brent Soucy also scored with 10:20 to play in the third period, which cut Glastonbury’s lead to 5-3.

Glastonbury’s Andrew Rousseau led all skaters with three points, scoring a go-ahead goal early in the second period and assisting on Sadak’s second goal and an insurance tally by Ryan Ginnett in the third period, which put the Tomahawks up 6-3 with under four minutes to play.

With the loss, Conard falls to 0-3 on the season.

The Chieftains skate again on Friday, hosting Simsbury High School at Veteran’s Memorial Rink in West Hartford at 8:40 p.m.
