‘We before me’ is the lesson that football players from West Hartford’s Conard High School share with students at their former elementary school.

Duffy Elementary School fifth graders experienced a treat recently when members of the Conard High School football team and Duffy alumni returned to Westminster Drive to give back.

Players read the book “Hard Hat for Kids:A Story About 10 Ways to Be a Great Teammate” and led a discussion on loyalty, hard work, respect and compassion. It was a wonderful experience all around!

The players were honored and thrilled for the opportunity to inspire the next generation. Duffy students were curious and engaged about all things high school, football, and teamwork.

It is always special for staff to see former students achieving and happy. Experiences like this strengthen the connections within our community, strengthening our community overall.
