Funding through this grant from the State of Connecticut provides an opportunity for children from low income families to attend high quality early childhood programs.

The Town of West Hartford is currently seeking applicants that can offer families a Full-Day/Full-Year experience. The definition of Full Day/Full Year is the site must provide preschool services for 5 days per week, 10 hours per day for a minimum of 50 weeks per year and adhere to the policy for an alternative plan of care outlined in GP 14-05.

In order to be considered for participation, programs must complete an RFP and submit by April 18, 2017 to Irene Garneau by email: [email protected].

Programs must be licensed and accredited by NAEYC, or become accredited within three years of accepting funds. Staff degree requirements are outlined by the State of Connecticut and included in the RFP.

Please contact Irene Garneau or go to www.whps.org/earlychildhood to obtain a copy of the RFP or to get answers to questions or concerns. Irene Garneau can also be reached at 860-929-5552
