In honor of its Centennial Year, the Mandell JCC is bringing back a fan favorite, the Family Purim Festival, Sunday, March 1 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT.

Families are encouraged to come in costume and try their hands at numerous festival game booths, and win prizes. Festival-goers will enjoy a delicious lunch and dance to the beat of their own groggers (festive Purim noise makers) at the costume parade.

Purim is known as the Feast of Esther, Jewish day of merrymaking marking the defeat of Persian tyrant Haman. It is customary to wear costume and hold carnival-like celebrations on Purim.

The Family Purim Festival is free and open to the community. Game booth tickets can be purchased the day of the event. For more information, contact Karen Wyckoff, 860-231-6317[email protected] or Gen Delay Pasternak, 860-231-6343[email protected]

The Family Purim Festival is sponsored by Mandell JCC Centennial Partners: Data-Mail, Hoffman Auto Group, LAZ Parking, St. Francis Care, TD Bank, Zachs Family Foundation and Entertainment Sponsors: Boppers and the Hartford Courant.

The Family Purim Festival is the third signature event in the Mandell JCC’s year-long Centennial Celebration. For more information about upcoming Centennial events, visit www.mandelljcc.org.

The Mandell Jewish Community Center is open to everyone and supported by funds raised by the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, a recipient of funding from the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, and a member of the JCC Association of North America.
