FOX 61 Reporter and West Hartford Resident Jim Altman Wins 3 Emmys

Jim Altman received his three Emmy Awards at the 40th annual Boston/New England awards ceremony last weekend.

Jim Altman of West Hartford, CT, received three Emmy Awards from the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences at the 40th annual Boston/New England ceremony on June 24 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.
Altman was awarded an Emmy for “News Specialty Report Arts/Entertainment,” for his story featuring the remarkable triumphs of disabled piano player, Norman Malone. In a collaboration with Music Director Richard Chiarappa, Malone debuted in a concert at Kingswood Oxford’s Roberts Hall leading the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
Altman also won in the “Outstanding Reporter/Sports,” category for his coverage of a West Hartford Baseball team’s groundbreaking trip to the Holguin Province of Cuba and for his coverage of a one-of-a-kind adaptive golf tournament in Wallingford.
The final Emmy Altman was recognized with was for “Outstanding News Report-Light Feature,” which showcased the talents of an artist from Simsbury making intricate masterpieces out of simple table salt.
Altman is now a 30-time Emmy winner. These awards represent outstanding achievements in broadcasting over the year throughout New England.
