The Golden Thread Gallery is so pleased to announce our next SPARK! Dinner will talk place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. at the gallery.

At our SPARK! event, artists present their community art project during a dinner where the public is invited to attend. All attendees will vote and the artist with the most votes will get all the proceeds from the dinner to create the community project. If needed, public approvals must be in place to receive funding.

Spark events are a fun and easy way for people with public art projects to get funding and support from the community. It also provides an opportunity for people who attend the dinner to help make exciting projects a reality.

Painting classes, dance performance, public exhibits, murals, and concerts have all been funded across the country through events such as this.

Artists are asked to register for SPARK! through our website by Monday, Oct. 20, as well as do a brief presentation on their idea at the dinner.

The Golden Thread was established in 2012 with the mission of connecting the human spirit through the  arts. The Golden Thread Gallery exhibits professional and emerging artists from various backgrounds and welcomes all mediums, all cultures and religions. By displaying a collection of various perspectives on a common theme, we reveal how art can creatively illustrate the diversity of the human condition. Our name, The Golden Thread, represents the invisible, underlying connection that weaves together the spirit of humanity – through the arts. We are currently presenting our second season “YIN & YANG: A Season of Connection & Balance”.

Our SPARK! program is an important part of the Golden Thread Gallery’s effort to help support artists and their efforts to create more art and art projects in our community. Since The Golden Thread Gallery has started this program we have donated over $1,100 to meaningful art projects in the community!

The gallery is located at 303 Tunxis Road in West Hartford, Connecticut. Gallery Hours are: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Thursday noon – 6 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
