It was a fierce matchup between Hall and Farmington girls lacrosse teams – an exciting game between the Class L No. 8 and No. 9 seeds on Tuesday in West Hartford.
Farmington set the tone early with a swift goal from No. 12 Lauren Jones. Hall quickly answered back as No. 6 Sammy Shannon hit the back of the net. No. 12 Claire O’Donnell doubled Hall’s lead as she scored not long after, but then No. 15 Catherine Watson tied it up with a goal.

No. 11 Lucy Gwiazdoski responded immediately to break the tie, followed by goals from No. 1 Anya Leshem and Shannon again, really widening Hall’s lead. But suddenly, Farmington’s Jones struck again, cutting the lead down. No. 2 Talia Packole followed with another goal, trimming Titans’ lead to just one.
Lauren Jones then tied it with yet another goal, and Farmington pulled ahead with another, making the score 6-5. Swiftly, Leshum tied it back up, 6-6, and Gwiazdoski scored again, giving Hall the lead.

No 15 Catherine Watson of Farmington wasted no time tying things up again. Then Gwiazdoski reclaimed the lead for Hall with her third goal of the match, making it 8-7, until Jones came storming through on a fast break to score her fourth goal of the game, tying it once again at 8-8.
No. 10 Emma Glick’s goal allowed Farmington to take the lead, and the River Hawks scored again, securing their advantage at 11-8.
No. 21 Aliza Sleet scored to spark Hall’s comeback, making it 11-9, and Gwiazdoski, with her fourth goal, tried to win it back for Hall. Unfortunately, time ran out, leaving the final score at 11-10 – a very close battle between both schools.

This was the second time that Hall, which entered the post-season with a 11-3 record, lost to Farmington. The River Hawks handed the Titans their first loss of the season, 10-6, back on April 25.
