As the school year came to a close and the warmer weather continued, Hall High School’s School Counseling & Career Center hosted an inaugural West Hartford Police and Fire Department Outdoor Fest.
On a bright and sunny Thursday, the back parking lot of the Hall campus housed various fun activities, interactive courses and career demonstrations, and so much more.
Members of the West Hartford Police Department, led by SRO Nicholas Sanford, engaged students with their K-9 , Motorcade, Drone, SWAT, and Community Relations Units.
Members of the West Hartford Fire Department, led by Community Support Office Andrew Eccles, welcome students to partake in a fire gear race, obstacle course, fire simulation, and use of the department’s water hose.
Students from all grades were able to attend, participate, and learn more about career opportunities within both departments, but for many it was so much more. Principal Dan Zittoun commented that he and many other faculty members were able to see “so many positive interactions with our community members, first responders and Hall students.”
