Two graduates of West Hartford’s Hall High School have received scholarships from Chapter D, P.E.O.

P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) has been celebrating women helping women reach for the stars for more than 150 years. Since its inception in 1869, the nonprofit organization has helped more than 116,000 women pursue educational goals by providing over $383 million in grants, scholarships, awards and loans.

Lily Zhang (left) is the recipient of the STAR Scholarship. She is continuing her education at Duke University. Lily is joined by Donna Lamoureux who presented the award at Hall High School Awards night.

Akshatha Nair (right) is the recipient of the Chapter D, P.E.O. Scholarship. She is continuing her education at the University of Connecticut as a computer science and engineering major. Akshatha is joined by Bette Marafino (right) who presented the award on Hall High School Awards night.
