A series of protests took place across the country on Saturday, with about a dozen in Connecticut, including West Hartford and Middletown.

About 40 people were in Middletown, participants said, and a smaller number were seen in West Hartford. Events were planned in about a dozen municipalities across the state, including Westport, New Milford, New Haven and Killingly.
