On the evening of Nov. 12, ITNCentralCT gathered board members, riders, volunteer drivers, and supporters for a cocktail reception at Rockledge Grille in West Hartford to celebrate a milestone in its journey of service. The event honored the retirement of Kevin Farmer, the long-standing Executive Director whose decade of dedication has left a lasting impact on the community, while also welcoming Evelyn Mantilla as ITNCentralCT’s new Executive Director.
Farmer was celebrated for his remarkable 10-year tenure, during which he helped ITNCentralCT grow and respond to the ever-evolving needs of the region’s older adults and visually impaired residents. In a heartfelt farewell speech, Farmer spoke about the organization’s ongoing mission and emphasized the critical need for new volunteer drivers and additional funding. His call to action underscored ITNCentralCT’s reliance on the community’s support and involvement to ensure accessible, safe, and dignified transportation for those in need.
Mantilla, newly-appointed Executive Director, shared her enthusiasm for leading ITNCentralCT into its next chapter. With a strong leadership and community organizing background, she expressed her commitment to advancing the organization’s mission and building on Farmer’s legacy of service.
The evening was filled with heartfelt conversations, gratitude, and shared vision as attendees celebrated ITNCentralCT’s role in fostering independence and quality of life for its riders.
