Interfaith families looking for ideas for Chanukah can find them at the Chanukah Helper Holiday Prep Class, Friday, Nov. 21, from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT. This class is free and open to the community.
The December holidays can be a challenging time for interfaith families but the Chanukah Helper Holiday Prep Class promises a comfortable setting to share experiences about raising Jewish children in an interfaith family. Facilitator Laura Kinyon, LCSW, will be present to guide interfaith families in learning how to infuse the celebration of Chanukah with meaningful holiday spirit with hands on tools and resources. Chanukah is the most celebrated home based Jewish holiday for Jewish and interfaith families alike so gaining knowledge about the holiday, its customs and traditions is important for families who might have limited knowledge or experience preparing for the holiday.
The Chanukah Helper Holiday Prep Class is a program of The Mothers Circle and Big Tent Judaism. Families can RSVP byNovember 19 to Elana Macgilpin at [email protected] or 860-231-6327.
