Kingswood Oxford’s football team traveled to New Haven on Oct. 18 and beat Hopkins School, 35-14, in front of a big Hopkins homecoming crowd. The Wyverns’ record is now 4-1; the next game is at home on Nov. 1 against Proctor Academy.

Quarterback Jacob Hallenbeck ’15 was 14-21 for 241 yards and four touchdowns – two of which were caught by wide receiver and West Hartford resident Mason Harvey ‘15, who finished the day with seven catches for 79 yards.

Isaiah Wright ’16 electrified the crowd with a 57-yard touchdown reception – one of his five catches on the day, for 115 yards.

The strong Wyvern defense did not allow a point until the fourth quarter. For the fifth straight game, Koby Quansah ’16 led the team in tackles with 16 on the day, including two for a loss. He also carried the ball 16 times for 121 yards and a touchdown, and caught a 49-yard pass for another TD.

Andrew Lemkuil ’16 also had an excellent game, posting eight tackles (four for a loss), a forced fumble, and several big QB hits. Nye Deskus ‘16, Dylan Stewart ’15 and Payton Krupp ’15 also played well on defense.
