The community is invited to a ribbon cutting of Kingswood Oxford’s newly renovated state-of the-art public squash courts on Jan. 20 at 4:30 p.m. at the 18 Highland Street facility in West Hartford.

The Wyvern Squash Club is the only public squash court in West Hartford, open to Club members. Following the ribbon-cutting, there will be an exhibition match for spectators to enjoy this fast-paced, exhilarating sport.

Phase One of the renovation includes eight international standard courts certified by the World Squash Federation, featuring an all-glass exhibition court. The space has dedicated locker and coaching spaces. Phase Two plans include the potential expansion into a multi-sport facility.

The Wyvern Squash Club offers lessons, clinics, and structured competitive programs to the public, directed by U.S. Squash professional Robby Lingashi, ranked among the top 60 squash players in the world by the World Squash Federation. The Wyvern Squash Club is open to anyone ages 5 and up. New members receive a complimentary 45-minute lesson.

Kingswood Oxford’s squash program has a legacy of success: three-time NEPSAC boys’ champions, two-time NEPSAC girls’ champions, and many alumni competing in elite college squash programs.
