“Can I afford to send my child to an independent school?”
“This is the question on the minds of many parents,” said Sharon Gaskin, Kingswood Oxford’s director of Enrollment Management, who is co-hosting an Independent School Affordability Seminar on Thursday, Oct. 15, 7-8:30p.m. in KO’s Conklin Library. “At our seminar, parents will learn about the range of tuition assistance that can make an independent school education available and affordable.”
Gaskin and Director of Financial Aid Alan Comrie will explain various types of aid, including merit scholarships, need-based aid, and student loans. At KO, 43% of the student body receives need-based aid, and an additional 19% receives merit scholarships.
The seminar, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Conklin Library. To register, email the Admissions Office ([email protected]) or call 860-727-5000.
“Over the years, we have found this seminar to be both informative and encouraging for prospective parents,” said Comrie. “Each family’s situation is unique, so we make sure the program covers the broad range of affordability options out there.”
Prospective families are also encouraged to attend the Open House for Middle and Upper Schools on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 1-4 p.m., and the Athletics Open House on Thursday, Dec. 3, from 6-7:30 p.m.
Interviews for September 2016 enrollment began on Sept. 23; for information, or to schedule an interview and tour, email the Admissions Office or call 860-727-5000.
