KO Student from West Hartford Earns All New England Honors

Kingswood Oxford Junior Mick Hains will compete in the New England Prep School Track Association race on Nov. 15.

Mick Hains ’16, son of Michael and Tracy Hains of West Hartford, placed 13th out of 142 runners in the NEPSAC Division 3 Cross Country Championships at Vermont Academy on Nov. 9, 2014.

In addition, the Varsity Boys’ team placed 5th overall out of 21 teams. That team includes Hains, John Ezzo ’18 of Kensington, Jack Reich ’15 of West Hartford, Max Obourn ’15 of West Hartford, Owen Cotthaus ’17 of Glastonbury, Kyle McLaughlin ’16 of Plantsville, and Arjun Katechia ’18 of Glastonbury.

Hains was named All New England and qualified to compete in the all-star race of NEPSAC’s New England Prep School Track Association (NEPSTA), known as the “race of champions,” on Nov. 15 at St. Mark’s School in Southborough, MA.

He was also named All Founders League after placing 15th in the Founders League championship on Nov. 1.
