Lamont Pitches CT Gas Tax Holiday as War Drives Prices Higher

As of Tuesday, March 10, the retail price for regular gasoline in Hartford County was $3.459 per gallon.

State motorists could get a small break at the gas pump, and it could come within weeks.
In an event at a family-owned fuel company, Gov. Ned Lamont pitched a gas tax holiday Tuesday as a short-term answer to rising fuel prices as a result of the U.S. and Israel – Iran war. He estimated the move would save drivers about a quarter per gallon, or about $20 a month for someone who uses 20 gallons a week.
“We’ve been talking about affordability a lot, and you’re not serious about affordability unless you’re talking about energy prices,” Lamont said.
