The Emanuel Synagogue has launched its lay leadership training as part of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism’s Sulam for Current Leaders Action Community leadership development program. The new training’s objective is to support energized, purposeful and sustainable Jewish congregations by strengthening the leadership community of officers, board members and committees. The twelve month professional leadership development is awarded to the West Hartford based synagogue recognized as a leading, forward thinking Jewish congregation in North America ready to adapt to an ever changing world.

“Fellow leaders and I are delighted to have begun learning new skills, knowledge and insight to create strategic investments in the promising future of our ninety-six year young sacred community” said Ira Henowitz, President of The Emanuel Synagogue. “Our interactive training is strengthening our current and emerging leaders’ focus in our quest to be a thriving, mission focused, purposed driven synagogue community that twenty-first century Jews find meaningful, inclusive and inspirational.”

The new professional development will guide the Emanuel Synagogue leaders through the process of creating compelling leadership vision and key strategies for its officers, board members, committee chairs and emerging leaders.   For more information on The Emanuel Synagogue, please contact Myra Emrick, Synagogue Administrator at 860 236-1275, [email protected] or visit www.emanuelsynagogue.org

A vibrant, egalitarian Conservative Jewish community, The Emanuel Synagogue empowers its members to seek a meaningful and robust path to Jewish values for everyday living. Our down-to-earth ambience is a welcome respite from the social pressures of suburban life.
