Democrats hope to allocate from $100 million up to about $150 million of a $500 million fund Gov. Ned Lamont has proposed to use for affordability issues.

Local school districts could get a bit more support under a plan unveiled Monday by the General Assembly’s Democratic House caucus.

Ritter and about a half-dozen other speakers cited the fairness of education funding at that level, labelling local taxes as among the more regressive means of funding in the state.
