Visitors to Lord & Taylor on Thursday, Oct. 9, have the opportunity to do much more than just shop for the latest fashions at a day-long fundraising event that also includes a workout for moms, meet and greet with a MLB baseball player and several children’s authors, and a wine tasting.
Funds are being raised through purchase of a $5 ticket, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated, split between 10 area non-profits including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Interval House, Prudence Crandall Center, Boys & Girls Club of Hartford, Boys & Girls Club of Waterbury, UConn Health Auxiliary, AAU basketball of West Hartford, Gardner’s House, East Farms School PTO (Farmington), and Kenway’s Cause Animal Shelter.
Tickets can be purchased at Lord & Taylor as well as directly from the non-profits, and all ticket purchases include two 25 percent bonus coupons, a 15 percent savings pass that can used throughout the day on almost all items, and a 10 percent coupon for cosmetics and fragrances.
“This event has gotten so big it’s really turned into multiple events in one day,” said Westfarms spokesperson Amanda May Sirica. The activities commence at 9 a.m. with a “Fit for Mom” in-store workout and end with an “after work wine and restaurant tasting” that begins at 5:30 p.m.
