On Saturday, Feb. 27, The Montessori School of Greater Hartford presented an open parent education class on The Nurturing Environment. This session was presented by MSGH Toddler teachers and focused on the development of the 6 through 24-month-old child. The topics of the presentation included weaning, toilet learning, separation anxiety, language development, movement, support of the bilingual child, and sleep.
It is the goal of MSGH’s Parent Education Series to provide support for parenting, and to give a solid grounding in child development. Furthermore, to ensure that families deepen their understanding of the Montessori curriculum, the school offers multiple opportunities to experience it firsthand.
Their next presentation will be Wednesday, March 25, from 10-11:30 a.m., at the Montessori School of Greater Hartford campus, 141 North Main St., West Hartford. The presentation, entitled The Toddler’s Mathematical Mind, explores the incredible budding mathematical brains of children before three.
