Northwest Catholic High School is proud to announce the appointment of Ernest Omar Wilson ‘91 as the new athletic director.

“I am deeply grateful to the administration for this incredible opportunity,” said Wilson.

Wilson is committed to fostering Northwest Catholic’s student-athlete experience through a focus on sportsmanship, student leadership development, and competitive team achievement, aiming to enhance NWC athletics in promoting student success.

Michael Clark, president of NWC, commented, “Omar brings a rare and multifaceted perspective to the AD position here at Northwest Catholic. He’s worn our jersey as a student-athlete, made the sideline calls as a coach, and has cheered on our kids as both a Northwest teacher and parent. He’s a loyal advocate of NWC’s mission and is poised to take this program forward.”

Principal Jennifer Montoney expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “We are excited for Mr. Wilson to move into this leadership role. His dedication to Northwest Catholic and its student athletes is unparalleled.”

As an alumnus of Northwest Catholic, Wilson participated in football, indoor track, and outdoor track during his high school years. He began his teaching career at the school in 2020 and has made significant contributions to the athletic programs, serving as the assistant varsity football and outdoor track coach before becoming assistant athletic Director in 2022. Additionally, Wilson has extensive experience coaching various levels of youth football for Simsbury Youth Football and has served as a board member for that organization.

Wilson is married to Jennifer Wilson (Bucchiere) ‘98, a fellow Northwest Catholic alumna, and their daughter, Cameron, is currently a member of the Class of 2026. His son attends Central Connecticut State University.

“Northwest holds a special place in my heart as an alum, and it is a privilege and honor to take on this leadership role,” said Wilson. “I hope to lead the Athletics department in a way that brings pride and continued success to Northwest Catholic.”

Northwest Catholic High School looks forward to the positive impact Wilson will bring to the Athletics Department.
