One West Hartford Resident Dead, Another Injured in Bloomfield Crash

The fatal accident occurred Friday morning near the intersection of Route 185/Simsbury Road, and Mountain Road in Bloomfield.

A 91-year-old West Hartford resident who was the passenger in a car that crashed in Bloomfield Friday morning has died, and the 49-year-old driver is in intensive care.
Police have not released many details about the crash, which is still under investigation, but according to a report in the Hartford Courant, a medical condition, perhaps a seizure, may have contributed to the crash.
According to the Courant, the driver of the northbound vehicle went off the road, hit a “for sale” sign, a utility pole, and some trees. The crash occurred at 8:40 a.m.
Police have not yet released the names of those involved in the incident, which is currently under investigation by the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad.
