Get your ears ready to be treated to some of the most joyous sounds in New England.

The ninth annual Wyvern Invitational A Cappella Festival (WIAF) celebrates the power and pleasure of vocal harmony at Kingswood Oxford school in West Hartford. This is the largest independent high school a cappella festival in New England, spanning two nights, Jan. 27, 2017, from 7-10 p.m. and Jan. 28, 2017, from 6:30-10 p.m. All proceeds of the event go to Team Tobati, a community service project supporting The Tobati School in Paraguay.

Last year’s festival attracted 14 groups with more than 200 singers from high school in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Running the musical songbook from up-tempo pop tunes like Uptown Funk to haunting ballads, the festival showcases the dynamic, expressive instrument of the human voice.

For months, students from across the area perfect multi-layering harmonies and developing vocal percussion to produce highly sophisticated, difficult renditions of songs. But, in the end, the evening is all about fun.

The event is held in the Roberts Theater at Kingswood Oxford School, 170 Kingswood Road, West Hartford, CT. General admission tickets (non-refundable) are $10.00. Tickets are on sale now.

Tickets can be purchased by clicking here. The event sells out quickly so order your tickets soon.
